  Milton "Dee" Hobbs, Jr.

MILTON ''DEE'' HOBBS, JR. concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, tax, mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, estate planning & probate, commercial real estate, construction, and entertainment and sports law. Mr. Hobbs has represented numerous C and S corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships throughout all stages of the business life cycle. His corporate finance experience includes various private debt and equity transactions in the capacity as counsel to the issuer/ borrower or the underwriter. Mr. Hobbs has experience in commercial real estate purchase, finance and lease transactions. Mr. Hobbs has experience in representing owners, developers, general contractors and sub-contractors with various construction law matters. Mr. Hobbs devotes a substantial amount of his practice to probate matters and estate planning with an emphasis on the structuring of large estates, including the drafting of various types of trusts, family limited partnerships, durable powers of attorney and living wills. His Intellectual Property experience includes representing film and television production companies as well as writers with licensing, copyright and trademark issues and in contract negotiations.

Mr. Hobbs periodically serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Mississippi School of Business where he teaches Business Law. Mr. Hobbs is a member of the Mississippi, Alabama and Lafayette County Bar Associations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the University of Mississippi Alumni Association and of the Phoenix Club of Birmingham (which serves the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama). In law school at the University of Georgia, he was a finalist in the J. Melvin England Mock Trial Competition and won the Best Brief Award in the Talmadge Moot Court competition. Mr. Hobbs has been on the ''Pro Bono Honor Roll'' for the Alabama State Bar and is a member of the Mississippi Bar's ''Volunteer Lawyer Pro Bono Program''. He coached city-league youth basketball in Birmingham, Alabama and the youth basketball teams for First Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Mississippi. Mr. Hobbs is listed as a ''Rising Star'' in Mid-South Super Lawyers.
